This tutorial was written for a Debian based Linux like Mint, but the steps are fairly similar for other Operating System's. Let us know if you need additional advice.
First search something like "Download Google Chrome" or go to this link:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome
Then when you click on Download, you can select the 64 bit .deb (for Debian/Ubuntu) install file, and click "Accept and Install"
You'll be presented with another window for opening that file.
If it's like my computer, the GDebi Package Installer will open a window behind the Firefox browser, secretly for some reason

Try minimizing the browser and you should see something like this behind and you can click on "Install Package":
Then in the next window select "Continue" to download the additional software that has to be installed.
It'll ask you for authentication, which is typing in the admin password, which is password if you got the computer from us and haven't changed it to something else.
If you do want to change that password to something more unique and personal (and more secure)
