You’ll find that there are some applications that you use on a regular basis and you may prefer to access them more efficiently.
Much like Firefox, VLC, LibreOffice, or Zoom which are pinned on the bottom panel, you can save your other favourite applications in that location as well.
- First, in the application menu search for the program that you want quicker access to. In this example we’ll use ksnip which isn’t installed by default simply because Ben created this image instead of Ean who would have included it. Click here for instructions on how to install ksnip and other programs.
- Right click the application once it is found. There you’ll have options to Add to Desktop (as a shortcut), Add to Panel (as a Widget), or Pin to Task Manager. If you select the last option Add to Favorites, it will pin the application in the Favourites menu which is the vertical list of icons on the left side of the application menu.
- There’s only a slight difference between Add to Panel, and Pin to Task Manager, but we recommend using the Pin to Task Manager as it’s a lot easier to remove the pin if need be later, just by right clicking the icon and selecting Remove from Task Manager.
