It’s now branched out to a more general audience allowing people to customize their communities for communication among their non-profit organization or hobby group.

CFSY has used Discord for years because some conversation is better when it’s recorded rather than spoken to people who aren’t listening as they’re focused on another project, as well as because we’re able to speak with folks at our parent office (Raven Recycling) without the annoyance and intrusion of a phone call for a quick question.

Since we’re already using Discord so heavily, and because we’ve found that almost all of our interns already have an account before they’re hired on, we figured it would be good to open up public communication channels so that we can all work together to answer any questions you might have.

Registering for a Discord Account

1. In a web browser, navigate to discord.com
2. Click on Login at the top right of the homepage.

1. This is where you would normally type in your account information, but since you don’t have any yet, we’ll have to register via the link at the bottom.

1. Fill out the information that is required, and click on Continue at the bottom.

1. You’ll be asked to click in the box marking that you’re a human, and to perform a test to prove you are, or in the very least that you’re of the highest quality of artificial intelligence ;) Sometimes these “captcha” tests will refresh to another image once you’ve selected one, so keep selecting images until there are no more that match what we’re looking for.

1. You now have an account! You’ll be presented with a window that looks something like this, and since we already have a server, you can click at the bottom on Have an invite already? Join a server.
